:- 5.0 out of 5 stars from D Wilson -- Documents lots of history and scenes that will soon disappear. : A good picture walk on the Newark Branch with views few of us get to see. The Passaic River bridge is exceptionally well photographed. Who hasn't seen that majestic bridge pointing skyward and wanted a closer look? Many of these scenes will be gone in a few years as redevelopment continues and maybe a commuter use returns to this right of way. A bit pricey, but then a lot of time and energy went into the making of this book and we should support these efforts to preserve history. ( Reviewed in the United States on October 16, 2021 )
- 5.0 out of 5 stars from Rhonda -- Historical, surprising and fascinating look at a New Jersey abandoned rail line : Wheeler Antabanez has compiled an historical as well as fascinating look at an abandoned New Jersey rail line and the decay that surrounds it. Since the tracks run just behind our home of 35+ years, these images are familiar territory. Several feral cat communities near us call these tracks home and too many wanderers feel free to dump their trash everywhere, but at the same time we see the landscape quickly changing as new construction cleans things up and rumors of a Greenway park circulate. Our section of track is tame compared to many of the other areas south of us, so thank you, Wheeler for going to all the much scarier parts and recording it all for posterity.
